Stone counters and integrated stainless steel appliances in the kitchen. Homes in Uptown, Chicago present comfort and convenience.

Some of the historic homes in Uptown are renowned examples of authentic Prairie-style architecture. The long, low horizontal shapes shade these spacious properties, many topping 4000 square feet in floor size.

Uptown Chicago Area Information

Uptown was once the heart of Chicago's arts and culture scene, with many famous theaters, studios and performance venues. Residents from around Chicago came to Uptown to enjoy its classy entertainment and retail options. This status declined somewhat in the middle of the 20th century, but has since been revived, and the area has undergone a significant renaissance in recent years.

Now, Chicago residents once again congregate in Uptown to partake in its multi-cultural culinary scene and still-epic nightlife.

Located in north-central Chicago, Uptown is barely 7 miles from downtown. Uptown also shares its eastern boundary with Lake Michigan, meaning that the area boasts some impressive coastal features, including:

  • Clarendon Park
  • Montrose Point Bird Sanctuary
  • Montrose Harbor
  • Montrose Beach
  • Lincoln Park

These attractions form a network extending up the length of Uptown's eastern edge, offering residents the use of dog parks, sporting facilities, venues for swimming and boating, multi-use trails, and a skate park.

Within Uptown there are two historic cemeteries: St. Boniface and Graceland.
